Four children have become friends on an international computer network and monitor the launch of a ring of communications satellites that will cover the globe. The satellites quintuple the complexity of the Internet with new pathways, and once they are in place, the kids tap into one of them. Suddenly, a strange window, unlike anything they've ever seen, appears on their screens: three dimensional space can no longer contain the infinite pathways of the Internet, so a part of it has split into another dimension. This window is the way in! One of the kids then jumps through the window in search of fame and fortune the three other kids follow in a rescue operation.
